Container Plant Ideas

We’ve all grown or tried to grow plants in containers. Look past plain clay pots and petunias for something different and fun. Unique mulches, like moss, will add personality to your container plant ideas. When selecting your plants, remember to combine plants that have the same light and water requirements and place your containers where those needs can be fulfilled.


Petunias and sweet potato vine are fine choices for container plant ideas, buy why not shake things up with some out-of-the-ordinary plant combinations? Mixing and matching different plant combinations are sure to create a unique and captivating display. Choose a container that has drainage holes in the bottom. You could also place your plants in a smaller plastic pot and then set the plastic pot inside a larger, decorative container.


The most common mistake we make when designing our containers is not choosing a container that is large enough for the plants to grow, but not outgrow the container.
